The Open day officer (开) — Chinese almanac
AuspiciousThe twelve day officers (建除十二神) of classical Chinese day selection — the fixed cycle behind each day's auspicious/avoid lists.
开 kāi · Open
Open (kāi) means opening and unblocking, a day of flourishing qi on which things may begin. Classical uses: opening a business, moving into a home, seeking out patrons and positions, medical treatment and acupuncture — any "first time" begun on an Open day was expected to flow freely afterward.
Opening contrasts with concealment: the one classical taboo is burial, whose meaning is to hide away — the opposite of the day's nature. Modern use: launches and openings, moving in, first visits, first days at work or school, opening accounts and projects.

Interpret through classical principles in two layers: 1) Structural Evidence: identify key line dynamics, changing line pivot, or element balance. 2) Actionable Verdict: direct answer to the inquiry in plain language, followed by 2–3 concrete next steps (action-verb first) and mindful cautions.
