The Director of Destinies day (司命) — ecliptic star of the Chinese almanac
AuspiciousThe twelve ecliptic spirits (黄黑道) of classical Chinese day selection — six Yellow Path blessings and six Black Path cautions.
司命 sīmìng · Director of Destinies
Director of Destinies (Sīmìng) is an auspicious Yellow Path spirit — the deity governing life and livelihood. Its days favor setting up the stove, worship, enrolling in study, and taking up a post: matters of settling one's life and living. Classical usage adds that its blessing is strongest by daylight.
Modern use: school enrollment, starting a job, relighting the kitchen stove after a move, and medical check-ups — a Director of Destinies day carries the image of establishing one's place in the world, best handled during the day.
